Home sweet....

....home. What was once an abandoned men's club now belongs to David Hurlbut, an intrepid industrial designer who bought, renovated and preserved the Harmony Club in Selma, Ala. The New York Times did an incredible piece and slideshow on Hurlbut's home, which ran recently. He said the club had been boarded up for 40 years and it took him two years to make the building habitable. I love that he kept the walls unfinished and opted not to clutter up the massive rooms with furniture. By doing that, I think he showcases the home's beautiful century-old architectural details.
