Tara Poynter's IG feed is visual candy. Shots of charming spaces, her travels (recent pics of Seattle make me hum with happiness) and gorgeous B&Ws inspire and soothe. Head over to @tarafirma and see more of her work. I have a feeling you'll become a follower when you do!

New year, new Instagrammer to follow. This weekend, I found Luisa Brimble's feed and was immediately pulled into her world of vibrant plants and flowers, welcoming table settings and charming interiors. Her work is stunning. The Sydney-based food and lifestyle photographer and founder of the Alphabet Family Journal has easily become one of my favorite photographers. You can find more of Luisa's work here.

Jessie Webster's feed is giving me major Instagram envy. The LA-based photographer is one of my favorite bloggers - she writes for Sweet Thing - and I am just enamored with her work. You can see why with these gorgeous pics...

Want more? Grab your smart phones and search for @sweetthingblog on Instagram. She's definitely a must-follow. Have a great weekend!

And .... I'm off! I'll be in the lovely Pacific Northwest next week and will be spending quality time with friends I haven't seen in a couple of years. I also can't wait to explore parts of Seattle I've always wanted to go to. I'm leaving you with these very pretty and inspiring images. Have a great weekend!!!!

I read a lot. And where I do it, it's pretty random. Sometimes I'll read in my car (parked in the garage at work) at the end of the day, a comfy and quiet nook in the office during lunch, my room, or IKEA (yesterday). Basically, I like to escape into the pages every chance I get. So I was elated when I found this photo series, Reading Women, from Carrie Schneider. There's not a lot of info on her site, but a quick search led me to a Huffington Post article about a past exhibit at the Monique Meloche Gallery in Chicago.

THE GIST: The project documents 70 women who chose to read a book written by a female author. For a two-hour period, Carrie captured those serene moments when the reader is in total abandonment of self-awareness, which comes when she is lost in a good book. You can catch this wonderful exhibit at the California Museum of Photography in Riverside starting December 16.

Helllooooo, 4-day weekend. I took the day off today and Monday is a holiday, so I have plenty of time to take it easy and relax. I actually just got up. Haha. Anyway, I hope you like these pics. They're lovely on their own, but together, they just make me happy. Enjoy your weekend, friends!

Let's start a brand new work week with beautiful photos from Tara Pearce. Her Instagram feed is gorgeous, and I love the wonderful mix of pics focused on family and her travels. They'll seriously brighten up your day. Check out her other Instagram feed: @outertowners. It's just as follow-worthy as this one. Have a great Monday!

Happy Friday

Friday, August 15

It's been an emotional week, to say the least, and this Nordic Light photo series from Babes in Boyland just brings on the calm. The beautiful light fits my reflective mood and the images are a perfect reminder that fall is on its way. Have a fantastic weekend, friends.

Provencial

Wednesday, August 13

Live a life of simple creativity and allow time for rest and recuperation from daily life. Awesome advice, right? That's the message behind Provencial, a wonderful site I recently found when I was searching for something entirely different. I love when that happens. For now, it's an online platform that features photo essays (find the stories to these images here and here), films, and a curated page of beautiful stand-alone images. But soon, Grace Taylor and Nicole Abesamis - the two ladies behind Provencial - are moving forward in making it into a quarterly print magazine. The first issue is expected this fall. That's definitely something to look forward to.

Happy Friday

Friday, August 8

Yay, another work week bites the dust. Saturday is devoted to errands, but on Sunday, I'll be brunching at Eggslut located inside the Grand Central Market and checking out some of the other eateries in the area. If there's time, I'll head over to Unique USA's LA Summer Market at the California Market Center. If you're around, I highly recommend you go. I've gone several times and I've never left disappointed. Just go early because it will get crowded. Have a fantastic weekend!

It's so easy to get lost in all the flowers, pretty pastels and beautiful styling found on Victoria's Instagram feed. I recently stumbled upon her blog, Oh So Pretty, and I'm just as enamored with that space and visit frequently. Victoria is definitely one to follow if you need a bit of calm in your life.

This weekend, I'll be planning my trip to Seattle. Yay! I'm taking a week off next month and a good chunk of that will be spent in Bremerton, Seattle, and the San Juan Islands. I've never been to the San Juan Islands, so if you have, I'm open to restaurant/shopping/B&B recommendations!

P.S. Happy that I'm doing my "Just lovely" posts again. Forgot how much fun they are. My favorite is No. 6 because it reminds me of my friends and that I'll see them in September. Can't wait. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Waiting for Saturday

Friday, July 25

Hooray, it's Friday. Any special plans this weekend? If you don't have any, Waiting for Saturday is the perfect place to go for inspiration. Dedicated to off-duty style, the site features tips from New York City's very stylish women. I love the Q&A's that include a breakdown of someone's day (because I'm nosy) and I really dig the lists on what to pack for a weekend getaway; how to make your home smell amazing; and what Tumblrs and Instagramers to follow. Waiting for Saturday is definitely on my must-read list. Maybe it'll be on yours too!
