'Gram envy

Tuesday, April 30

Welcome to Matthew Ferri's world depicted through Instagram. I'm one of his newest followers, and I can't get enough of his memorable shots of NYC and Brooklyn. The skyline is gorgeous, right? I've only visited once, and I've wanted to go back ever since, but I'm in my save money/pay-bills-off mode. Fortunately, I'm totally fine with seeing New York through Matt's eyes for now. Do take the time to check out his work. He's a good one to follow.

Just lovely

TGIF. Who has fun plans this weekend? Sunday is my dad's birthday so we're going to have brunch and watch a movie. It's going to be a fantastic day. Last night, I was totally inspired by these photos. They've put me in the right mindset and the stress is officially gone. Hope they do the same for you. Have a great weekend!

Orla Kiely

Tuesday, April 23

Sure enough, it's starting to warm up here in LA, so I think it's time to give the boots a rest and keep the sweaters and black tights out of reach. Also, I need to prepare for my trip to Malibu, and I just realized that I wanna dress like this gal while I'm there for three days.

Orla Kiely's SS 2013 collection is heavenly, and I adore these dresses, especially the top one. I need more pinks, yellows and greens in my life. I'm going to start with these beauties.

Out and about

Monday, April 22

Yesterday was a great day. I forced myself out of the house (most weekends I turn into a hermit) and spent my Sunday afternoon at The Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles.

I had lunch at Farmshop and went to Diesel Bookstore to grab a couple of books. Here are some photos from my visit. I edited them with the VSCO app
Photos by Christine Rose Morente

The last four images were taken in Silver Lake a couple of weeks ago. Before meeting friends for dinner, I bought a little floral bouquet at Clementine Floral Works, and I had to stop for a minute and stare at the little green polka dot plaza off Sunset Boulevard. What a crazy cool spot.

Marte Marie Forsberg

Thursday, April 11

Last night, I was drawn to Marte Marie Forsberg's photos featured on VSCO's site. The food and lifestyle photographer from Norway talked about her aesthetic, photo styling, and her history with food and photography. I love how she uses the light and props to add life to her photos. Check out her portfolio here. The photos below have been edited with the VSCO app.

Currently loving

Monday, April 8

I can't get enough of Family Affairs, a clothing line created by mother-daughter duo, Nina and Kaya Egli. Their Spring/Summer 2013 collection, "Night Train to Cassis," is delightfully charming.

I'm eyeing the Cafe Zoe dress with the yellow vintage telephones and sailor collar (above). Here's how Family Affairs sets the scene: "Wearing your carefree Cafe Zoe dress, raspberries and a bottle of wine in your knapsack, you ride your bike around a crystal clear mountain lake with your best friend from childhood, chatting away the whole time." Perfect day, right? So happy I found the collection through Calivintage.

Just lovely

Friday, April 5

Happy Friday, friends. It's been a quiet week (my favorite kind) and will be an even quieter weekend. I just picked up Gillian Flynn's Dark Places and I can't wait to read it. I have a feeling it's going to be another great book since Gone Girl was freaking brilliant. What have you read lately? Please let me know because I'm always looking for new authors/just released books. Have a great weekend and hope you enjoy these lovely pics. I truly love the green building.

Ash and Anchor

Thursday, April 4

I adore these infinity scarves from Nina Glaser's Ash & Anchor. They're perfect for spring - lightweight and colorful - and I can wear them everyday if I wanted to. Plus, they're made from water-based pigment inks and organic cotton fabric. I love it when a new favorite thing is earth-friendly.
