A schoolhouse

Thursday, November 29

Here are more photos from my Oak Glen trip on Saturday. This batch is from the Oak Glen Schoolhouse Museum. I'm so glad we managed to squeeze in a quick visit before it closed for the day after spending the afternoon at Riley's Farm. Walking around the one-room schoolhouse, I tried to imagine what it was like for the students (they ranged from first to eighth grade) who spent most of their days there. They had such a jam-packed schedule. Also, if you want your mind totally blown, read the 1915 Rules for Teachers. I mean, wow!

  1. This is so cool! I dig all of your pictures! The only thing we have like this around here is haunted and I haven't been to it yet, but I've always wanted to go. People sneak out there all of the time.
