The first thing I asked myself when I started looking through Tiny Atlas Quarterly was, where's my passport? Then came the follow-up: Do I have enough vacation time to fully appreciate what the Amalfi Coast has to offer? Sadly, the answer is no. For now, I'll have to depend on the travel and lifestyle journal to transport me to the sun-kissed region whenever I'm in need of a mental escape. [Confession: I've already logged many hours on the site. I can't stop staring at the spectacular photos of cliffside villages, emerald green waters and white sandy beaches.] Contributing writer Meraviglia Paper calls the south of the Italian Peninsula heaven and I totally agree.

Amalfi, photographed by the talented Magdalena Wosinska, is just one of the many enchanting places that grace the pub's virtual pages. Past issues have featured photo essays from a collective of photographers, art directors, designers, stylists and other creatives who thrive on telling stories and sharing their personal photos snapped during professional projects and jobs. Check out these other features: BarcelonaHong KongCabreraSantorini and Switzerland

Tiny Atlas Quarterly has a printed annual that can be found here. I've also just started following its Instagram feed. It's quite lovely.

Wise words

I booked my flight to Seattle!!! I know I've already mentioned that I'll be in the PNW in September, but I'm so dang excited. I can't believe it's been two years since my last vacation. I've taken one or two mini road trips during the occasional long weekend to stay sane, but I'm finally leaving LA even if it's just for a few days. No smog. No traffic-clogged 405 freeway. Bliss. Do you think it's too soon to start packing?

Alaska is on my must-visit list. I almost went a few years ago to cover a special retreat with a group of nuns from the Bay Area, but the newspaper I worked for at the time couldn't afford to send me. The urge to go to the last frontier came up again when I stumbled upon Josh Abe's new blog, True & Brave. Josh is the  guy behind the wonderful Oh, Pioneer! He recently wrote about his trip to Alaska and the images alone are breathtaking. Oh, I need to go soon.

Travel bug ....

I know I just had a week off, but in the back of my mind I'm planning my next vacay. These pics from A well traveled woman are just spurring my wanderlust along.

High style ....

High's Fall-Winter 11/12 lookbook is out and yes, I'm ready to break out the passport again. This fashion shoot is absolute perfection, and I want those coats.
