Shop love

Monday, June 1

My Sunday afternoon: Lunch with a dear friend at Milo & Olive in Santa Monica and a bit of wandering around the General Store in Venice Beach. The General Store is a darling shop that has an amazing mix of clothing, plants (want all of them), books, jewelry and other treasures that will make the best prezzies. Definitely heading back there.

Fine Life Company

Tuesday, November 4

Last week, I was reblogging and liking lots of photos on Tumblr and saw a couple from Fine Life Company floating around. Curious, I clicked on the link and immediately oohed and aahed over pretty things that would make perfect gifts for the fast approaching holiday season.

What makes Fine Life Company unique? Store owner Emily Benziger curates new, found and made goods that follow Made in the USA and Fair Trade practices. I was so happy to see her feature products from some of my favorite brands like Apolis and Considerthewldflwrs.

This site will be one of my go-to places, not just for holiday shopping, but for year-round shopping. Can't wait to check out Emily's new finds in the next few weeks. For now, these apothecary products - thisthis and this - are callin' my name.

CORRECTION: In an earlier post, I mistakenly called Fine Life Company, Fine Line Company. My apologies to Emily. I vow to never blog past midnight.

I first heard about Folklore through Sparrow & Co. earlier this week, and I knew I had to look up this London-based shop out ASAP. I'm so glad I did. Folklore, also an online store, was founded by Danielle Reid and her husband Rob. They curate mindful design for home and life, and work with talented designers who either create handmade lifestyle goods or work with antique/recycled/found materials. My kind of people, ya know?

Herriott Grace ....

Wednesday, February 15

While looking around for THE perfect birthday present for my mom, I found Herriott Grace, a shop that sells beautiful hand carved and hand turned wooden objects. Herriott Grace is owned by Lance and Nikole Herriott, a father-and-daughter team in Canada. He creates the items, while she styles and photographs the pieces. I'm loving the bowls, but unfortunately all of them are sold out. My mom's birthday isn't for a couple more weeks so I'm keeping my fingers crossed more will be available. If not, there's always Christmas .... P.S. these lovelies are available on the site.

Yes, please ....
