True craftsman ....

Friday, June 15

I just watched the Herriott Grace film and it is fan-tas-tic. You can watch it here and the trailer is below. Herriott Grace is a father-daughter owned shop that carries exquisite hand carved and hand turned spoons, bowls, pedestals, candy dishes, serving boards, rolling pins, plates and mortar and pestle sets. Lance Herriott is the craftsman and the film is about his passion: carving.

Happy weekend ....

Friday, July 15

Sweet, sweet Winnie the Pooh. As excited as I am to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 this weekend, I may instead flee carmageddon by watching Disney's Winnie the Pooh. I don't know, maybe it's because of Keane's song, but I get incredibly sentimental whenever I see the trailer and want to watch the film even more. Have a great weekend everyone!

Big top ....

Elgarbo
The other night, I went to a screening of Water for Elephants starring Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson and Christoph Waltz. Loved the book of the same name by Sara Gruen and also enjoyed the film. I was captivated by many of the scenes, especially the ones that involve "Rosie" and the rest of the circus menagerie. Pattinson's pretty mesmerizing as well. ;-)  It's out in theaters today.

Hello Friday ....

Friday, February 25

Squeee! I'm parking my bum in front of the TV to watch The Oscars on Sunday. Can't wait to catch the fashion and see who gets the coveted award. I have a good feeling that Anne Hathaway and James Franco are going to make good hosts. Do you agree?

Hello Friday....

Friday, January 28

Hello Friday, indeed! This Sunday is the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and I can't believe I will be at the Shrine Expo Hall helping with publicity during the show. My outfit is ready -- I opted for a classic black suit -- and will get my hair cut this morning. Will be working non-stop till the show is over, but that. is. fine. with. me. Hopefully, I'll be able to share photos next week. Here are the nominees for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. Which film (The King's Speech, Black Swan, The Social Network, The Fighter and The Kids Are All Right) do you think will win The Actor?

Loving Jane....

Friday, January 7

I was excited to find out yesterday that a new film adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre will be released in March! I've loved Jane Eyre since I was in elementary school and have watched many film and TV versions of the dark love story. So I was so happy to learn that director Cary Fukunaga and screenwriter Moira Buffini stayed close to the novel and played up the Gothic elements.  Mia Wasikowska stars as Jane Eyre, Michael Fassbender plays Edward Rochester and Judi Dench is Mrs. Fairfax. Watch the trailer here.
